Online Fraud in Pakistan — Stop, Trace & Recover
Bank transfer scams, Easypaisa/JazzCash fraud, card fraud and fake investment schemes are prosecuted under PECA 2016, investigated by the NCCIA. The brutal truth: recovery chances are decided in the first hours — by whether the receiving account is reported and frozen before funds move on. IMAAR's cyber team handles the emergency sequence — bank reporting → evidence preservation → lawyer-drafted NCCIA complaint → tracing → recovery proceedings — the same day you contact us.

The First Hours — Do These In Order
- Bank/wallet helpline — now. Report the transaction and demand blocking/freezing of the receiving account. This call, made fast, is the single biggest recovery factor.
- Preserve everything. Chats, numbers, transaction IDs, receipts, account numbers, profiles — screenshots with dates. Delete nothing; don't confront the fraudster.
- Lawyer-drafted NCCIA complaint. Filed with the complete transaction trail — structured complaints get registered and acted on; vague ones sit.
- Enquiry → FIR → tracing. We pursue the enquiry to FIR where the offence is made out, with tracing of receiving accounts and SIMs.
- Recovery. Traced account holders face criminal process and civil recovery — every traced rupee is pursued.
PECA 2016 — electronic fraud (s.14), electronic forgery (s.13), unauthorized use of identity information (s.16); general penal provisions on cheating; investigation by the NCCIA. Bank-side reporting under the banks' and SBP consumer-protection frameworks, with the Banking Mohtasib as an added remedy for bank-side failures — see banking services.
Fraud Types We Handle Weekly
- Wallet fraud — Easypaisa/JazzCash transfer scams, fake "prize/tax release" demands, SIM-linked account misuse — the highest-volume category today;
- Bank transfer & card fraud — social-engineered transfers, OTP scams, unauthorized card transactions and bank-side reimbursement disputes;
- Fake investment & crypto schemes — groups, apps and "trading platforms" that vanish with deposits;
- Online marketplace scams — advance payments for goods and vehicles never delivered;
- Business email & impersonation fraud — supplier-payment diversion and CEO-impersonation transfers;
- Defence side — representation of persons whose accounts were misused or who are wrongly implicated in fraud enquiries.
