Recent Case Work

Section 462-I PPC Electricity Theft

Section 462-I PPC criminalises dishonest abstraction or theft of electric energy, and is distinct from the utility's disputed bill amount. The prosecution must establish the theft itself — meter tampering or an unauthorised connection — not merely that a bill is contested. Defence typically turns on meter readings, inspection reports and the chain of custody of the connection.

Sections 499 & 500 PPC Defamation

Section 499 PPC defines defamation as making or publishing an imputation that harms a person's reputation, and Section 500 PPC prescribes the punishment. Both a criminal complaint and a parallel civil suit for damages are available to the person defamed. Truth, good faith and privileged occasions are recognised defences that can defeat the claim.

Section 324 PPC Attempt to Murder

Section 324 PPC punishes an act done with the intention or knowledge that it is likely to cause death, even where the victim survives. Bail and sentencing depend heavily on the injury's nature, the weapon used and the medico-legal report. A single, consistent defence line from bail through trial matters most — inconsistent statements are used against the accused later.

Section 489-F PPC Cheque Bounce

Section 489-F PPC criminalises issuing a cheque that is dishonoured for insufficient funds or a stopped payment, where it was issued dishonestly to discharge a liability. Prosecution under this section can run alongside a civil recovery suit for the underlying amount. Common defences include disputing the existence of the liability, or showing the cheque was given as security rather than for immediate encashment.

Governing Law

Code of Criminal Procedure 1898 — ss.496–498 (bail), s.154 (FIR), ss.22-A/B (justice of peace), s.561-A (quashing); Pakistan Penal Code 1860 — ss.406, 420, 489-F and related offences; Constitution, Art. 199 — High Court's writ jurisdiction.

If You or a Family Member Faces a Criminal Case — Do This First

  1. Say nothing; call a lawyer. No statements to police, complainant, or on phone/WhatsApp. Everything can be used against you.
  2. Get the FIR copy. You are entitled to it. Send it to us on WhatsApp for a same-day assessment.
  3. Secure bail first. Pre-arrest bail (if not yet arrested) or post-arrest bail is always priority one — liberty first, then defence.
  4. Preserve evidence. Receipts, messages, call records, witnesses — from day one, before it disappears.
  5. Follow one strategy. A single, consistent defence line from bail to trial wins cases; mixed statements sink them.

Criminal Defence FAQs

How quickly can a bail application be filed?
Urgent bail applications can normally be prepared and filed within a day of engagement; pre-arrest bail is fixed quickly with interim protection sought at the first hearing. Contact us immediately when an FIR is registered or arrest is feared.
What should I do if an FIR is registered against me?
Do not make statements to anyone, obtain the FIR copy, and consult a criminal lawyer immediately to assess pre-arrest bail under s.498 CrPC. Early advice at the FIR stage often decides the entire case.
Can a false FIR be cancelled?
Yes — remedies include cancellation through police investigation findings, and quashing petitions before the High Court under s.561-A CrPC / Art. 199 in appropriate cases. Each route depends on the FIR's contents and evidence.
Do you represent complainants too?
Yes — we file private complaints, pursue FIR registration through 22-A petitions, and conduct prosecution-side representation in cheque dishonour and fraud matters.
