Recent Case Work
Section 462-I PPC criminalises dishonest abstraction or theft of electric energy, and is distinct from the utility's disputed bill amount. The prosecution must establish the theft itself — meter tampering or an unauthorised connection — not merely that a bill is contested. Defence typically turns on meter readings, inspection reports and the chain of custody of the connection.
Watch explanation →Section 499 PPC defines defamation as making or publishing an imputation that harms a person's reputation, and Section 500 PPC prescribes the punishment. Both a criminal complaint and a parallel civil suit for damages are available to the person defamed. Truth, good faith and privileged occasions are recognised defences that can defeat the claim.
Watch explanation →Section 324 PPC punishes an act done with the intention or knowledge that it is likely to cause death, even where the victim survives. Bail and sentencing depend heavily on the injury's nature, the weapon used and the medico-legal report. A single, consistent defence line from bail through trial matters most — inconsistent statements are used against the accused later.
Watch explanation →Section 489-F PPC criminalises issuing a cheque that is dishonoured for insufficient funds or a stopped payment, where it was issued dishonestly to discharge a liability. Prosecution under this section can run alongside a civil recovery suit for the underlying amount. Common defences include disputing the existence of the liability, or showing the cheque was given as security rather than for immediate encashment.

If You or a Family Member Faces a Criminal Case — Do This First
- Say nothing; call a lawyer. No statements to police, complainant, or on phone/WhatsApp. Everything can be used against you.
- Get the FIR copy. You are entitled to it. Send it to us on WhatsApp for a same-day assessment.
- Secure bail first. Pre-arrest bail (if not yet arrested) or post-arrest bail is always priority one — liberty first, then defence.
- Preserve evidence. Receipts, messages, call records, witnesses — from day one, before it disappears.
- Follow one strategy. A single, consistent defence line from bail to trial wins cases; mixed statements sink them.
